End of year report 2023

It’s the last day of the year. Let’s have a look at this year’s statistics! You’ll find last years statistics here.

This year, we celebrated 10 years of genius and madness, known as A Gentlemanly Sport!

2023 had a slight increase in blog posts compared to the previous year. With 52 posts we had an average of exactly 1 post per week.

We haven’t spent much effort on Twitter (or X) yet. We might in the future. Also we haven’t yet figured out this whole “Instagram-game”. It’s lots of effort for not much return in terms of website traffic.

Website traffic

Our site, according to Google and Jetpack statistics seems to get more and more attention from you readers. Compared to 2022, the number of visits to our blog increased by nearly 1.000 %! A lot

Well done and please continue to check our blog regularly. We’d appreciate it.

Games played

Brawl Arcane, a small and portable miniatures games was our most played game in 2023. And Battletech, the hex-based Classic version and the HBS video game, has become a game to serve more often in the future. Of course we stay true to our all times classics, like Kings of War, Frostgrave, Full Thrust and One Page Rules. Two games, we really enjoy, but didn’t play this year are Gaslands and Horizon Wars. Historical games like Saga and Dragon Rampant haven’t seen any playtime this year either.

Our goal, we set for ourselves in 2022 to play more games this year, just fell short of a handful of games. Everyday life and a new family member (hopefully a new member of the club) made it very difficult to play more games. But still that’s nearly 2 games a month on average.

We haven’t been to any convention together this year.

We attended our weekly Motivation Thursday Discord meetings on a regular base in the first half of the year.

On the plus side, we’ve got a new member: Olivier.

That said, soon we’ll have our New Year’s general board meeting in January 2024 when we’ll discuss ideas and set goals for the coming year.

And with that, all that’s left to say is:

Thanks you for reading our blog and following us on social media. We wish you a happy new year!
